The heroic Ettore Fieramosca who lead thirteen brave Italian knights to victory over the French in the Disfida da Barletta. The history, traditions and love for the land are all part of the beauty that characterizes this region. These values have been passed down through the generations. Today we can see this amazing history and beautiful past in such stunning places as the great plains of Ofantina near the Murge, or in the endless sweeping fields that have been cultivated by wise peasants over the years to raise these wonderful vineyards. The expertise, caring knowledge and methods of these original farmers are still employed today and can be seen in the splendid olive groves. The plants that grow in this land flourish in the unique Mediterranean climate that reigns over Apulia.
